Meatpacking Walking Tour
Saturday, April 20, 2024 I 11am - 12:30pm - Rain or Shine!
Today, the Meatpacking District is a well-known trendy neighborhood, but it hasn’t always been so! Join Jacquie Ottman '77, author of “Ottman & Company, Meatpacking District Pioneers'' (2022) for a 90-minute walk down cobblestone streets revealing the 400-year history of the area, including a Lenape trading post, military forts, and a bustling produce market. The walk will culminate with a visit to Pier 57 with spectacular views of the Hudson River and an optional lunch at one of the many local eateries. The tour is limited to 15 SCC NYC members.
We will meet at 2 Ninth Avenue under the canopy at the Lucid showroom.
