SCC NYC Community Collage

November 1 – Come Home to Smith: On Saturday, November 1, Smith College will celebrate its 150th anniversary with a series of events across campus designed specifically for alums. If you are planning to go, you can find out about all the activities here.

Participate in Smith’s Traveling Diary Tour — read the Smith College feature and visit the official project website to get involved.

November 6 – Cromwell Day: The 2025 Cromwell Day Keynote Address will be delivered by Farah Pandith ’90 and will be held from 1:00–3:00 PM. The keynote address will be streamed live on Smith’s Facebook page. More information can be found here.

On Loan: Smith College Museum of Art on loan to NYC museums and galleries. We would love to hear if you are able to visit any of these works in person! Take a photo of you with the art, tag it #smithartmuseum and post it at the SCMA’s Instagram page, @smithartmuseum.

  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art: The Art of John Wilson: Witnessing Humanity (through February 7, 2026), featuring My Brother, on loan from the SCMA.
  • The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum: Rashid Johnson: A Poem for Deep Thinkers (April 18, 2025 – January 12, 2026) includes a Johnson print from the SCMA.
  • The Morgan Library & Museum: Renoir’s Drawings (September 13, 2025 – March 6, 2026) includes two drawings from the SCMA.

Work and Volunteering Opportunities

Study Buddies Connect (Association to Benefit Children)

Study Buddies Connect is a free virtual tutoring program for underserved families run through the Association to Benefit Children. We match students with a one-on-one tutor who then meets each week to work on homework, academic goals, and executive functioning skills.

We are always looking for more tutors! If you are interested in getting involved, please email lbrandenburger@a-b-c.org.
