Helping with the Admission Committee is a great way to connect with the campus and the Club; all are welcome. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and please include your name, phone number, email and location preference for interviews (Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens or Staten Island). Communications and Technology
Are you taken with Twitter? Fond of Facebook? Intrigued by Instagram? Put your social media skills to use for your alma mater. Our Communications Committee handles the Club's promotions - from updating website pages with more news and information, to creating the quarterly newsletter, to posting on our social media channels. If you would like to learn more about what we do, please contact Communications@smithclubnyc.com.
Club events offer opportunities to reunite with old friends and meet new Smithies. The Committee oversees the annual holiday party, faculty lecture, and spring tea, and partners with the College and other Smith groups to host NYC events. The Committee develops event ideas, finds guest speakers, rents venues, coordinates food and beverage needs and day-of set-up and clean-up. If you would like to lend a hand, or if you have an event idea, contact Events@smithclubnyc.com.
The Benefit committee organizes the club's cherished annual fundraising event and is our way of giving back to the college. It traditionally features a keynote speaker and proceeds are paid directly to a scholarship endowment fund managed by the college, which continues to grow to meet todays costs of a college education thanks to the generosity of Smith Alumnae who gather at this event to celebrate their connection to the college and each other as alumnae. For further information or if you would like to help with the benefit planning contact email@example.com. For more information about this committee, please view the Benefit Committee page.
Want to connect to other NYC Smith alums? The Smith College Club of New York is always looking for volunteers to help build the SCCNYC board and create great programming for the Smith community of NYC. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to help with the nominating process.
Special Interest Groups
The Club currently has two book clubs. One is over 20 years old, the second was started in 2018 to accommodate new interest. Both meet monthly in the home of a Smith alumna. If interested in joining, contact Bookclub@smithclubnyc.com or check the events page for details.
These groups help foster a sense of community and allow for more flexible and focused interactions among Alums with similar interests. If you would like to set up an affinity group please contact the communications team. Visit our Affinity Group page for a list of groups and more information.
