Upcoming SCC NYC Events You Won’t Want to Miss – Mark Your Calendars!

 

It’s going to be a busy fall season! We’re thrilled to share a preview of the upcoming events planned by the Smith College Club of NYC.

 

     FEATURED: The first exhibition of the Smith College Historical Clothing Collection.

Opening on September 27 and running through June 22, 2025, the New-York Historical Society will present selections from Smith's extensive collection in this inaugural exhibition, co-curated by Smith Professor Kiki Smith '71 and Rebecca Shea '99. 

We are working to schedule several tours to visit this groundbreaking show: REAL CLOTHES, REAL LIVES: 200 Years of What Women Wore.

 

 

     September 19, 6:00 -8:00 PM: Connect with Smith: New York with President Sarah Willie-LeBreton

     September 25, 5:30 – 6:30 PM: Private tour of the Morgan Library & Museum: Liberty to the Imagination: Drawings from the Eveillard Gift

Join the Smith College Club of New York City for a private tour of the exhibit “Drawings from the Eveillard Gift”, a collection of 28 drawings from the holdings of New York-based collectors Jean-Marie and Elizabeth (Betty) Eveillard ’69.   Watch your inbox for more information.

     October 5, 1:00 PM: Cheer on the Pioneers Volleyball team

The Smith Pioneers will be playing against Ithaca College at NYU.  More details to come!

 

     October 19, 10:30 AM: Tour of Little Island, led by Signe Nielsen ’72, Landscape Architect

 

Join us for a tour of Little Island led by the lead designer for the project.   Attendance is limited to 20 so check your inbox for the invitation.

 

     October 27: Walking Tour – Ladies Mile

Emma Guest-Consales ’09 is offering a follow-up to our walking tour of the Gilded Age mansions in the spring with her insights into the Ladies Mile Historic District, a prime shopping district at the end of the 19th century

 

     December 7: Faculty Lecture – Ginetta Candelario ’90 Professor of Sociology and of Latin American Latino/a Studies

Join Ginetta Candelario ’90 for a lecture and tea/refreshments at the Culture Center.
