It's MOUNTAIN DAY IN NYC!

Tuesday, October 1, 2024

Join the Smith College Club of NYC’s annual celebration of Mountain Day!

A Smith tradition since 1877, Mountain Day is a surprise break from classes on a beautiful fall day chosen by the president, who announces the holiday by ringing the college bell bright and early in the quad. Smith students take this time to honor a cherished tradition—enjoying fall activities, like hiking or apple picking, or just lounging on campus.

Wherever you are—whatever your view—we hope this day, this tradition, reminds you of the deep bonds that connect you to this remarkable college and to other Smithies around the world.

Meet us this evening at Bryant Park by the Pink Granite Fountain at 5:00 pm. Feel free to bring some seasonal goodies to share!
