A Conversation With

Farah Pandith ’90

Foreign policy strategist, former diplomat, and world-leading expert in countering violent extremism.

Farah will be joined by Kate O’Brian ’80, Trustee of Smith College.

Farah Pandith

Our honoree this year is FARAH PANDITH ’90, a Smith College Medalist and former trustee of the College. Farah is a foreign policy strategist and former diplomat. A world-leading expert and pioneer in countering violent extremism, she is the author of How We Win. Farah was a political appointee under Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and George H.W. Bush; most recently, she was the first-ever Special Representative to Muslim Communities.

Farah will be joined in conversation with Smith Trustee Kate O’Brian ’80, best known as a pioneering American news executive and award-winning journalist. Kate spent 30 years at ABC News, starting as an intern and rising to Senior Vice President for News. Appointed to be the founding President of Al Jazeera America in 2013, Kate was the first woman to run a 24/7 cable news organization. Most recently, Kate served as President of News for The E.W. Scripps Company. Currently, Kate O'Brian is CEO of the Jerry Jerome Foundation.

All proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund dedicated to providing critical financial aid to students from the Greater New York area.

Please join us for an exceptional evening in support of the SCC NYC Scholarship Fund.
