Tete-a-Tete and a Savory Tart!  From the La Pitchoune Kitchen!

Saturday, November 21st, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

La Pitchoune ('La Peetch')

Julia Child’s iconic pegboard kitchen lives in the Smithsonian, but there’s ANOTHER ONE in the South of France in her former summer home La Pitchoune (‘La Peetch’).

Join Mackenna Held, ‘07, courageous cooking school founder and La Pitchoune proprietress, for a deconstructed (no recipe) luncheon ‘cook-along’ of a savory tart, minimal effort, and a perfect Thanksgiving starter or side - AND a tour of the La Pitchoune property!

Come savor a bit of history, pick Mackenna’s brain on living in France (since eventually many of us will find our way back to Europe). Learn a bit about Makenna’s unique approach to recipe-free cooking. Cooking is optional, of course – come and enjoy the ambiance and the esprit de corps!

About Makenna Held

Makenna Held is a ’07 graduate of Smith College, a serial entrepreneur, artist, and writer. In 2015, on a lark and sight-unseen, she purchased La Pitchoune, the former vacation home of Julia Child. Through her cooking schools, coaching, writing and live events (in the before times) she inspires others to live life by their ‘own recipes’ and ditch conventional wisdom in order to allow deeply resonant and personal truths to shine through.
