On Saturday (10/19) Kathleen McCartney will become the 11th President of Smith College, and alumnae in the New York metro area are invited to be part of the celebration. The NYC Smith Club is sponsoring a live webcast of the event at the stunning home of an alumna in the Noho Historic District.
Missing Smith classroom discussions? On Wednesday (10/23) Smith Professor Michael Gorra will be joining us. His latest book is Portrait of a Novel: Henry James and the Making of An American Masterpiece (2012). Reviews of the book, which was named a Finalist for both the Pulitzer Prize and theational Book Critics Circle Award, are available here.
