October 17th - Sunday : Special Theatre Event - Wish I Had A Sylvia Plath

"a moving meditation on the difficulties of combining creativity and domesticity...Cleverly combining film with live action, the show veers wildly- like Esther's mind- between farce and tragedy? I left the theatre with a lump in my throat."- The Guardian

The members of the Smith Club of NYC are invited to experience Wish I Had a Sylvia Plath, starring Elisabeth Gray, and written by Edward Anthony, this year’s winner of the prestigious Edinburgh Festival Fringe First Award for Outstanding New Writing.  The one-woman play, a work of fiction, follows Esther Greenwood (the heroine of Plath’s The Bell Jar) as she attempts to mix, blend and whip her memories, fantasies and illusions into the most perfect poem of her life.

Following the performance, Club members will be treated to a talk-back by Ms. Gray and a Plath scholar TBA.

Date - October 17, Thursday
