New Events Added! Craft Meet-Up / Potluck, Movie Night, Book Group - and a Broadway revival

Dear Reader,

We are continuing to add events to our schedule, and as we head into the weekend here are a few more to mark on your calendars:

Next Wednesday, January 21, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, join us for some creativity and conversation at our Winter Craft Meet-Up / Potluck. Whether you like to knit, quilt, crochet, or do another craft that fits in your lap, this is a time to work on your project while connecting with other Smithies. The meeting takes place at the home of an alumna (address provided to registered guests); please bring a dish to share.

Then on Wednesday, February 12, get out of the cold and into the Oscars spirit at our Movie Night. Join our group to watch Still Alice (with Julianne Moore and Alec Baldwin) or Cake (with Jennifer Aniston and Sam Worthington). We'll confirm the movie and exact time closer to the date, but the screening will be at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 (W. 68th and Broadway) at a time after 5:30 pm. Space is limited - and tickets are discounted - so sign up now!

On Monday, February 23 at 6:30 pm, it's time for our Book Group. This week we'll be discussing Edith Wharton's classic The Age of Innocence. The event will be at the home of an alumna; contact Bookgroup@smithclubnyc.org for more details.

And finally, come celebrate the first Broadway revival of The Heidi Chronicles, the Tony award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Wendy Wasserstein, from Producer Gabbe London Palitz '80 and Director Pam MacKinnon (who recently directed Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?). Starring Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men's Betty) and Jason Biggs (Orange Is the New Black), this timeless play follows a successful art historian and feminist's coming of age over a twenty year period, exploring her personal growth as well as the many social and political changes taking place. The performance will take place at the Music Box Theater (239 W. 45th Street) on Wednesday, February 25 at 8:00 pm.

These are only a few of the fantastic evenings we have planned in the coming months. Keep an eye on the Smith College Club Events page and check back often - more dates are being added every week.
