New Events Added - Champagne Tasting, Networking for Young Alums and Our Open Board Meeting
Dear Reader,
We have some fantastic events coming up in the next few weeks!
First, this Wednesday, Feb. 25, warm up and have some fun with our Young Alum / Young at Heart Karaoke in Kips Bay, starting at 6:30 pm. Young Alums also have an opportunity to tap into some career advice at the end of next month on March 21, when members of the Class of 1982 who are working in law, medicine, public relations, business and nonprofit host a Networking Gathering.
Next Wednesday (March 4) we tackle the issue of women's compensation and value in the workplace, as Patricia Tidwell '73 PhD, LCSW hosts a Salon on Mika Brzezinski's best-selling book, Knowing Your Value: Women, Money and Getting What You Are Worth. The evening will explore roadblocks that are unique to women and how to best move up and achieve recognition and financial worth.
On Tuesday, March 10, at 7:30 pm, you are invited to our annual NYC Smith College Club Open Board Meeting. This is a great time to learn more about the Club and our committees. You can also sign up to help with events, membership, admissions interviews, and much more.
And let's face it -- everyone loves a nice glass of bubbles. But can you tell your Cuvees from your Cremants? Join us on Thursday, March 12, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, as Cynthia Sin-Yi Cheng '92 leads us on a journey through the wonderful world of champagne. As founder of cyn-et-vin, a premier wine tasting consultancy and events company, Cynthia will help participants determine their champagne "type" by sampling glasses from some of the world's best champagne houses, such as Charles Heidsieck, G.H. Mumm, Perrier-Jouët, Lamiable and Pascal Doquet.
