Open Board Meeting Tonight, Champagne Tasting & Young Alum Networking
Dear Reader,
We hope to see you tonight at the NYC Smith College Club Open Board Meeting (Tuesday, March 10, at 7:30 pm) -- a time for all Smith alumnae to get a deeper dive into how we work to bring Smithies together through our programs and committees. Have an idea for a fun event? Want to play a role in interviewing prospective Smith students? This is a great time to find out more and to think about getting more involved. If you plan to attend, please RSVP BY 3:00 PM TODAY so that we can provide your name to the front desk.
We move from the Board Meeting to bubbles on Thursday, March 12, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, when wine expert Cynthia Sin-Yi Cheng '92 guides us through a champagne tasting and talk on what to know the next time you raise a glass for a celebratory toast. In addition to tasting samples from premier houses such as Charles Heidsieck, G.H. Mumm, Perrier-Jouët, Lamiable and Pascal Doquet, stay for a reception and hors d'oeuvres following the event.
Then on Saturday, March 21, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, members of the Class of 1982 host an informal networking gathering for young alums. Local Smithies working in the areas of law, nonprofit development, public relations, business and medicine share their perspectives on work -- and work / life -- issues. If you are employed in one of these fields and have questions (but no one to ask at work), or if you're considering a career change, this is a valuable opportunity to tap into a diverse group of professionals in a friendly, comfortable setting.
