Networking Events, Trailblazing Women Journalists, Dance Premiere and Free Concert

Dear Reader,

This week, we explore women in a wide range of careers. We start on Saturday, March 21, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at our Young Alum Networking Gathering, where Smithies can ask top-of-mind questions about work and work / life issues in a friendly, comfortable setting. Members of the Class of 1982 working in law, nonprofit development, public relations, business and medicine host this informal event.

Then on Monday, March 23, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm we delve into the world of trailblazing women in journalism like Peggy Hall, Martha Gellhorn, Marguerite Higgins and Dickey Chapelle -- all of whom reported from the front lines. Author Penny Colman presents the new documentary, Pioneering Women War Correspondents, which was produced, directed and edited by Milena Jovanovitch '73. The evening will also include a discussion on the distinguished career of Smith alumna and WWII correspondent, Helen Kirkpatrick '31.

We close out the month with another career-focused event. On Saturday, March 28, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, join us for a Networking Brunch at a Murray Hill cafe.

We also have two fantastic Connect Events lined up this week -- Wendy Osserman ('64) Dance Company's premiere of Do You Like This Title? on Friday, March 20, and a free concert by cellist Nada Radulovich '88, performing works by Debussy, Carter, Beethoven and Bach on Sunday, March 22. (Connect Events involve local alumnae but are not official NYC Smith College Club events.)
