Young Alum Happy Hour on Thursday, Mistakes I Made at Work

Dear Reader,

Looking for something fun to do later this week? How about some bocce, beer cheese and bourbon? Connect with other Smithies on Thursday, April 16, for our Young Alumnae and Young-at-Heart Happy Hour. The group meets from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Floyd NY (131 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn), described by New York Magazine as "modest Middle America meets cool Brooklyn Heights."

What do author Cheryl Strayed and musician Kim Gordon have in common? They both had some professional challenges before getting to the top. Find out more on Thursday, April 23, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, when Jessica Bacal, editor of Mistakes I Made at Work: 25 Influential Women Reflect on What They Got Out of Getting It Wrong, discusses these and other stories from the book. Bacal serves as director of Smith's Wurtele Center for Work & Life and will also bring some special guests to talk about their personal experiences in the workplace.

Don't forget our Spring Potluck Tea on Saturday, April 25, at 3:00 pm! Members, non-members and their guests are all welcome.
