Be a Smith Summer Partner
Join the Smith College Club of NYC for the third annual Smith Partner Summer Program! Smith alumnae will be matched with current Smith students who will be interning in the New York City area. As with every year, our goal is to secure a broad spectrum of alumnae volunteers, including both class years and career backgrounds. We encourage all alumnae to be part of this rewarding opportunity!
Smith Partner Summer Program is open to both Smith students who are participating in Praxis (a program giving Smith sophomores and juniors a one-time stipend for an unpaid internship that draws on their academic background and career goals), as well as Smith students working in New York City this summer who would like to have an alumna partner.
Should you be interested in participating, you would agree to meet in person with your Smith student two times this summer, once near the beginning of their internship and once near the end. While you are encouraged to meet more often if your schedules permit, two meetings are required. In addition, you will be invited to the kick-off gathering in early June and the closing event in August. The time commitment is entirely manageable and, in the past, has been very meaningful for alumnae partners.
We will make an effort to match each Smith student with an alumna whose professional and personal activities have a substantive connection with the Smith student's internship.
