Membership Party Tomorrow, Advancements in Breast Cancer Research and World Premiere Performance

Dear Reader,

Start your week on the right foot - RSVP for tomorrow's Smith College Club of New York Annual Membership Party. The event runs from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the beautiful Bridget Moore ('79) Gallery in Chelsea. All are invited, but since admission is free for members, it's a good time to join now or renew your membership.

Attending the party is a great way to hear more about what we have planned this fall, including these upcoming October highlights:

  • An evening with Dr. Anne Moore '65, Medical Director of the Weill Cornell Breast Center and one of New York Magazine's Best Doctors, who speaks about her work and research with breast cancer on Wednesday, October 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
  • The world premiere of "The Inn at Lake Devine," a new play based on the book by novelist and former Smith professor Elinor Lipman, adapted by and starring Jake Lipman '00 (no relation), to be held on Wednesday, October 14; an exclusive talk back with both Elinor and Jake Lipman follows the show.
And watch your email and our Smith Club social channels for the announcement about Mountain Day. We invite you to meet us after work in Bryant Park for socializing and warm beverages (BYOB).

Finally, join other Smithies to close the week at the first Young Alumnae / Young-at-Heart Happy Hour of the new season. This meet-up takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at a location on the Upper West Side. Register here for details.
