Landscape Architect Susan Cohen '62 on Creativity & Inspiration, Save the Date for Holiday Party

Dear Reader,

If you have ever wondered where creative ideas come from, we have the event for you. On Thursday, November 19, hear from author and landscape architect Susan Cohen '62. Susan's new book, The Inspired Landscape: Twenty-One Leading Landscape Architects Explore the Creative Process, includes landscape architects from around the world. The book features designs such as a MoMA roof garden inspired by a French film from the 1950s and a drought-resistant California landscape inspired by a Van Gogh painting.

Joining Susan is Signe Nielsen '72, whose Brooklyn waterfront project, Fulton Landing, is featured in the book. The event includes a talk and book signing;
RSVP for details.

It's not too early to RSVP for our Annual Holiday Party on December 8 - or to buy Pecans as holiday gifts, which helps raise money for the Smith Scholarship Fund.

And a warm - and well-deserved - congratulations to Katherine Naughton '70 and Vanessa Gates-Elston '02, recipients of the Smith College Alumnae Relations Club Award at Smith's 2015 Volunteer Leadership Conference, held on campus this past weekend. Katherine and Vanessa were recognized for their passion and work furthering Smith's mission, much of which is done through The Smith College Club of New York City.
