Tonight! Author Dinitia Smith on The Honeymoon, Princeton Club Tour, LBGTQ Picnic in the Park

Dear Reader,

Kirkus Reviews called Dinitia Smith's latest novel, The Honeymoon, "an appealing fictionalized biography of the revered British novelist George Eliot that imagines the inner impulses and passions hidden under a cloak of 19th century propriety." Join us tonight as the author, a Smith '67 graduate, discusses the book and why she chose an actual event in the Middlemarch author's life as her latest subject. An award-winning novelist, Smith has also worked as a New York Times cultural correspondent, an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker and a literature instructor at Columbia, NYU and the Bread Loaf Writers Conference.

On Wednesday, June 8, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, take advantage of a Smith Club benefit: access to The Princeton Club of New York City. Enjoy a members-only tour to learn about overnight accommodations and dining and athletic facilities. RSVP now, as space is limited.

This weekend, it's time to celebrate Pride Month. Meet with the Smith Club on Saturday, June 11, for a LBGTQ & Alum Potluck Picnic in Central Park. We'll meet in the Sheeps Meadow from 1:30 to 4:30 pm (look for the rainbow balloons) for games, networking and food (bring a dish to share). For questions or more information or to RSVP, contact Jasminachuck@gmail.com.
