Last Chance for Tonight's Membership Party and More!

Dear Reader,

It's your last chance to register for the Smith College Club of New York City's Annual Membership Party happening TONIGHT!.  The event runs from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the beautiful Bridget Moore ('79) DC Moore Gallery in Chelsea. All are welcome, but free admission is one of the many benefits of membership in the Club.  Other member benefits include free admission to the Holiday Party and Faculty Lecture and discounted admission to various Club events.  Please join the Club or renew your membership now.

Upcoming Club events include a special presentation where you can learn about the “Tiffany Girls” who cut glass for Tiffany Studios’ famed lamps, windows, mosaics, and enamels. The discussion will be led by Arlie Sulka ’78, expert on the work of Louis Comfort Tiffany and Tiffany Studios, and Margaret Hofer, Museum Director of the New-York Historical Society and co-author of the 2007 catalog on the “Tiffany Girls.”  Proceeds will go to the Club's Scholarship Fund.  Click here for more information and to register.

It's also not too late to RSVP for Sunday's career event, co-sponsored by the Office of Alumnae Relations and The Smith Fund.  Part 1 of a five-part series, Smith Women Connect - Managing Your Career, titled Your Present, will give you the opportunity to assess the current state of your career, identify how well you fit in your current position, and complete a self-assessment of values, accomplishments, strengths, skills and personality factors.  Click here for more information and to register.

Please check out our other exciting fall events, including our annual Mountain Day meet-up, by clicking here.

A new year of activities may just be starting, but one program is a longstanding fundraising tradition: selling Pecans. Dorothy Guth '50 initiated pecan sales more than 25 years ago, noting their popularity at Smith Clubs around the country. And she got the attention of an important voice - Craig Claibourne, who was then food editor at The New York Times. He wrote an article about the efforts called "9 Tons of Pecans for a Cause." You can purchase pecans by clicking here.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Please note: Registration fees for events and activities are only transferable to another person to attend the event for which the registration fee has been paid. Registration fees are not transferable to another event or refundable.
