Two Special Events and a Special Opportunity

Can't get to Northampton on Sunday for Commencement?  Join us on Sunday, May 21, when we host a live webcast of

Commencement 2017 featuring Speaker Oprah Winfrey.  Now open to all but space is limited so please register early.

And Smith comes to NYC on Wednesday, June 14, when Paula Deitz '59 and Kiki Smith '71 present "What We Wore:  Fashion and Memory in the Smith College Collection." Featuring examples from both the Smith Museum and personal collections, the event will be introduced by Jan Carlson Oresman '55.

Networking and mentoring is a great Smith tradition and you can do both by becoming a Smith Summer Partner for the fifth annual Smith Partner Summer Program.

The Smith Summer Partner Program is open to Smith students who are participating in Praxis (a program giving Smith sophomores and juniors a one-time stipend for an unpaid internship that draws on their academic background and career goals), as well as Smith students working in New York City this summer who would like to have an alumna partner.  We match local Smith alumnae with these Smith students and want to enlist a broad spectrum of alumnae volunteers, across class years and career backgrounds.  If you are interested in being an alumna partner, you would agree to meet in person with your Smith student two times this summer, once near the beginning of the internship and once near the end (two meetings are required, but we encourage you to meet more often if your schedule permits).  The time commitment is manageable and, in the past, has been very meaningful for alumnae partners.

If you are interested in participating, please return the information below  to spsp@smithclubnyc.org no later than Thursday, May 25.

For questions, please email spsp@smithclubnyc.org.
