Party, Pecans, and 'Care' Packages: Jump into the Holidays with Your Smith Community

As we kick off the holiday season, check out these fun ways to connect with the Smith community in the city and to encourage current Smith students.

We hope to see you soon!

Join us for a relaxed evening of writing notes and making packages to cheer on the 190 current Smithies from NYC as they get ready for their final exams. Supplies and light refreshments will be provided, but donations of small items to include in the packages are also welcome.

Get out your party clothes! It’s time for the annual Smith Club Holiday Party! Celebrate the holidays and the end of 2017 with your fellow Smithies. There will be festive food, sparkling refreshments, and delicious treats galore.

The Club's tradition of selling pecans to benefit the Smith Scholarship Fund continues.

Orders take up to four weeks for delivery, so order now for holiday giving.
 
Here is a favorite recipe from Beatrice Yu '79:
Pumpkin Pecan Pie
 

 

Ingredients
4 slightly beaten eggs
2 cups canned or mashed cooked pumpkin
¼ tsp salt
1 cup sugar
½ cup dark corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp cinnamon
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
1 cup chopped PECANS
 
1. Combine all ingredients except pecans.  
2. Pour into pie shell; top with pecans.
3. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, or until set.  
 
Serves 6-8
