Thanks to those who kicked off the new year setting intentions at the Club's 2020 Vision Board activity. If your intentions include spending more quality time with Smithies, then look no further than these exciting opportunities to read, sing, explore, hablar, cook, and more. We hope to see you soon.
Julia Child Supper Club
Introducing the Smith College Club of New York City Julia Child Supper Club, a tribute to our beloved Julia Child, the culinary sensation who taught Americans how to cook classic French food and have fun doing it. Imagine laughter and the aroma of fabulous food, fellowship at the table, and an evening of French wine and cheeses while we tackle recipes from Julia Child’s “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” and other publications. The club will meet for one night every few months and prepare a starter, main course, and dessert in each session. A rented kitchen space will ensure plenty of room, and all wine and provisions will be purchased in advance. Supper club members will each have a part of the menu to prepare and will guide each other through the preparation aiming to be 'a table' by 8:00 pm when the meal will be shared with a glass of wine. Supper Club participants will decide on the next meeting's menu. Whether you are just learning to cook or are a seasoned pro - all levels are welcome. The first Julia Child Supper Club meeting will be Tuesday, March 24. Please join us.
