Pecans
Due to recent changes in administration, we must announce that the Club will not be selling pecans this fall except at in-person pecan parties and events. We hope to resume online Pecan Sales for fall 2022. In the meantime, the Franklin County Smith College Club, located in western Massachusetts, has graciously offered to facilitate shipped orders (6-packs or more) for us. For the order form and more information about placing your order visit our pecan page.

Website Changes and New Groups

You may have noticed new pages on the SCCNYC website. The club is on a mission to bring more to the Smith NYC community. We have recently added pages for the Annual Fundraising Benefit and the Admission Committee to keep you abreast of the activities of those committees. Check them out!

SCCNYC Affinity Groups

Affinity groups help foster a sense of community and allow for more focused interactions among Alums with similar interests. If you would like to set up an affinity group please contact the communications team.
We welcome all ideas - language groups, LGBTQ groups, food explorers, sports activities, career-oriented groups, or location specifc groups for your borough or neighborhood. Form a group and share your passion or just connect informally with your Smith NYC community.

Affinity groups will be listed on the homepage of the website with a quick and easy signup link. Club membership is not required to join an affinity group.

Our most recent Affinity Groups

Entrepreneurship
This informal club will allow Smithie entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, founders and enthusiasts to stay connected through organized and impromptu meetings. Don't miss this great opportunity to exchange information about entrepreneurship. Find out more or quick signup here.

The Art Lovers Club
Art events sponsored by the SCCNYC always draw a large crowd. The Art Lovers Club will meet more informally and spontaneously. Find out more here or for a quick sign up use this link and receive emails about our ad hoc meetups to view exhibits, or just to spend an hour or two creating art.

  OTHER CLUB NEWS

The Admission team is planning a surprise for all 231 Smith students from NYC. We will keep you up to date and let you know once those plans are underway.

Shoutout for volunteers

The growth of the club is dependent on collaboration with the community. Our goal is to foster the Smith NYC community and facilitate connections by providing a roster of diverse events and activities. Smith Alums from all fields can help by becoming actively involved in our planning, brainstorming, or by lending a helping hand with specific activities or new endeavors. We can always use help with events, communications and media, or with activities that we would like to develop, such as community volunteer planning.
Would you like to write articles for the newsletter or work on other media campaigns? We hope to start featuring NYC Smith Alums in the newsletter and on the website and welcome help interviewing and writing the profiles.

If you have ideas or time to lend a hand, please contact us

Bring us your event ideas or consider  joining the Events Committee.  You can use this form to submit any Event ideas.

2022 Nominating Committee

The club is in the process of building the 2022 Nominating Committee for the SCCNYC board. If you would like to help shape the future of the club, please consider volunteering for this committee. Neither the recommending Alum nor the person receiving a Board nomination is required to be an active Club member. All Board directors must be members subsequent to election in order to serve.

“Remember, 'No one's more important than people.' In other words, friendship is the most important thing - not career or housework or one's fatigue - and it needs to be tended and nurtured.” - Julia Child ‘34
