The Future was Then: The Changing Face of Fascist Italy

Angelina Lippert ’07, Executive Director and Curator at Poster House, invites SCC NYC members for a private tour of The Future Was Then: The Changing Face of Fascist Italy. The tour will be led by B.A. Van Sise, curator of the exhibition.

This striking exhibition examines how Mussolini’s regime used art as propaganda—shaping advertising, culture, and national identity through the Futurist movement. Featuring 75 works from the renowned Fondazione Massimo e Sonia Cirulli in Bologna, it explores the blurred line between creativity and control.

B.A. Van Sise, a photographic artist, author, and curator, brings his unique perspective on the intersection of language and the visual form.
